Dr. Itzel Coronado is a licensed Acupuncturist and practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine based in Cupertino and San Jose, California. With a strong foundation in both Eastern and Western medical traditions, she is committed to helping individuals achieve physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
Originally from Mexico City, Dr. Coronado began her medical journey at the UNAM School of Medicine, where she first developed an interest in Traditional Medicine. This led her to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Medical Acupuncture and Integrative Rehabilitation from the State University of the Ecatepec Valley—an intensive five-year program combining over 4,000 hours of academic and clinical training. She later continued her education in Traditional Oriental Medicine through the University of East-West Medicine in California, completing the state’s Tutorial Program.
Dr. Coronado is nationally certified by the NCCAOM and licensed by the California Acupuncture Board. Her clinical experience spans a variety of settings, including public health initiatives in Mexico City that provided care for low-income families and children with chronic illnesses and disabilities.
In addition to her private practice, Dr. Coronado works with Allied Pain and Spine Institute, where she treats patients from diverse cultural backgrounds. Her approach is centered on whole-person healing—addressing not just physical pain, but also emotional and mental balance.

Outside the clinic, she enjoys hiking, meditation, art, reading, and biking with her husband, their two sons, and their senior Golden Retriever.
